A Sip of Alpine Wine in a Cinema-Dinner
This week's cider hunt took me to the fancy restaurant in the middle of Mission District, the Foreign Cinema. Foreign Cinema is a one of a kind restaurant where you can enjoy good food and creative movies projected in the back side of their dinning place. Its prime time is at the twilight time when the movie starts to play.
As soon as I arrived, I waited at the bar to give the waitress time to prepare our table. I looked at their cider options and ordered the Trois Pepins Ciderie du Vulcain.
Trois Pepins by Ciderie du Vulcain is produced by Jacquez Perritas, who hand picked and harvested the fruits to make this cider. It is a combination of equal part of apple, pear, and quince grown in an untreated high-branched trees in Fribourg.
The dinning area of Foreign Cinema is an indoor room with a glass roof, very beautiful. It feels like you are sitting outside where you are actually indoor. I could see the movie of the month,Fantastic Mr. Fox, projected on the wall. The hanging lights and the movie played on the back wall gives an urban and classy atmosphere to the restaurant. While waiting for the food, I started to taste my cider.
"The light golden liquid of Trois Pepins is not very carbonated. I can taste the subtle apple tartness in the semi-dry cider. It has a white wine characteristic and a light tannic flavor. It has a good subtle balance of flavor, which makes it perfect. It is a grown up drink! I would say, it is a 4.3 out of 5.0."
The Alpine wine, Trois Pepins, complimented all the delicious foods at Foreign Cinema. Very excellent! I highly recommend.
