Comparing Sephora Play and Allure Beauty Box October 2018 Edition
*Play! By Sephora*
This is what you will get in the October 2018 Sephora play at $10 per months.
Anastasia Beverly Hills stick foundation in banana color
Tarte Quench hydrating primer
Philosophy Purity Made Simple eye cream
Benefit Gimme Brow + Volumizing eyebrow gel in 05 deep
Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
Chloe perfume
I like all the samples. They are all coming from very-very nice brands that you can purchase at Sephora. I like how they added the cartoon "Last Minute Looks for Halloween" pictures in the back of the product catalog that also comes with a gift card that you can exchange for an extra 50 beauty points for any online purchase or an in-store mini makeover. Plus, they release a video every month that tells you which products are going to come in your play box of the month.
*Allure Beauty Box October 2018 Edition*
Allure claimed that the total value of the mini sized products in their beauty box ranges between $50-$90. You can get the beauty box by subscribing to the $15 per month plan with $5 discount or the $150 per year.
Allure adds a mystery item into your box for the first shipping. Plus they have a gift program, where you can send a gift to your friend at $45 for 3 months, $85 for 6 months, and $150 for 12 months.
The shiny red box from Allure for this month came with 9 mini size products in total. Love it!
Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash mascara in ultra black
Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment
Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser
Oribe Free Styler Working Hairspray or Kenra Dry Oil Control Spray
Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks
Claudalie Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
BKR Paris Water Balm
Bonus: Galexie Glister
The box has more high-end product samples like the Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment, cost $105 in full size, and the Claudalie Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum, cost $49 full size. $15 is a really good price for the 9 mini size products. The catalog also listed the website where you can buy the full size product with additional promo code for discount.
Comparing the two brands, I like Allure Beauty Box better than Sephora's. Allure box has more sample size products than the Sephora Play box. It also comes with more high-end products. It is worth it at an additional $5 per month, to the $10 per month Play! by Sephora, or less, $30 if you selected the annual subscription. Allure also has more subscription and gift plans than Sephora even though you can not purchase the full size of your favorite product directly at Allure's official site.
Why not try both for a couple of months and see which one you will like better. Have fun!
