I Really Need to Go to the Bathroom Apps

Updated: Oct 20, 2018

This post is dedicated to people who always need to pee at the most random time

Flush & Good2Go

I am a pee-er. I alway need to go to the bathroom. It is always ok when I can predict when I need to pee, but most of the time I don't. Sometime when you are walking in the city, a.k.a. San Francisco, it can be hard to find a bathroom. So, I did a little search and found two reliable interesting bathroom finder app, Flush and Good2Go, to help me tackle my urgent business.

1.Flush

Flush is one of the top rated app in the Apple App Store. It is available in the Apple App and Android store. It has over 190,000 bathroom listed in its database. It is very reliable.

Last Sunday, I was walking in Golden Gate park, and as always, suddenly felt the need to pee. I opened flush app. It automatically locating my location and generated a list of nearby bathrooms in the order of distance from where I was at.

I was very close to the Conservatory of Flowers in the park, so I clicked the bathroom shown to be just beside the Conservatory of Flowers in the map.

When I clicked the point, there is an option to use the map to go to the bathroom. I clicked "Go" and walked to the point. The Apple Map app pop up to showed me the direction.

As predicted by Apple map, 8 minutes later, I arrived to the bathroom. And there it was the huge clean public bathroom. YAY!

"I will give 3.8 / 4.0 for cleanliness of the bathroom, 3.5 / 4.0 for the wide option of bathroom in the app, 3.2 / 4.0 for the app user experience design, and 3.0 / 4.0 for the product concept. Thumbs up."

2.Good2Go

I really want to feature this app because it is uniquely San Francisco. Good2Go is a new startup with a mission to provide a secure access to a public space such as lobbies, parking structures, and bathrooms. It is available in both Apple and Android Store. They have started a collaboration with grocery chains, restaurants, and cafes to implement their security system for people to access bathroom in the San Francisco city using barcode scanning technique.

In another sunny day in San Francisco, I really, really need to go to the bathroom and decided to use Good2Go instead of Flush. This app is more sophisticated than Flush. There is a specific direction that you have to follow to use the app, that lets you queue virtually into a specific bathroom.

When I opened the map, it is showed me green bubbles indicating where the restroom is available at. There was four restroom in green, two with no number and two with "1" on it indicating that there is another person in queue.

I selected the bathroom at the Cafe La Boheme at the 24th St Mission. When I got closer to the location, the "Join Queue" button showed up. I clicked "Join Queue" and was directed to automatically to the barcode section, since there is no line in front of me.

I arrived to Cafe La Boheme and found a blue-yellow Good2Go sticker on the window, so I walked into the cafe and was able to easily locate the bathroom with a silver triangle and a grey Good2Go sign. On the right side of the bathroom door, there was a barcode scanner. I scanned the barcode from my app and the door automatically opened!

Inside the bathroom, there are a lot of Good2Go sign showing the bathroom user the who they are, how to use the bathroom appliances, and some instruction for cleanliness to keep the cleanliness standard for their bathroom high.

"I will rate 3.0 / 4.0 for the cleanliness of the bathroom,1.5 / 4.0 for the availability of the bathroom, 3.4 / 4.0 for the app design user experience, and 3.8 / 4.0 for the product concept. Love the concept, despite of the low number of availability today. I hope they are growing more and more connection, so San Francisco can enjoy a public exclusive clean bathroom."

Good luck trying Cider Lovers!
