English Greatest Knight's Cider Strongbow
The delicious Strongbow Gold Apple cider is a popular cider and in fact is one of the first few cider that I have tasted. A subsidiary of Heineken, Strongbow was founded in 1962, manufactured in Belgium, but first launched in England. It is named after England's greatest knight, Richard de Clare, whose nickname is Strongbow. Their motto is "Bestest with ice". The drink is really good over ice cubes, very drink able.
"It is caramel brown-yellow in color. Very strong apple juice smell and taste with low-medium tartness. No bitterness and is medium sweet, but not as sweet as apple juice. Average carbonation and medium body. Great over ice! But has a little artificial flavor. An easy drink. I would say it is 3.6 out of 5.0."
The 2016 World Cider Championship gold medalist is a delightful drink over ice cubes. However, It has a little artificial taste to it. Digging deeper, the nutrition fact side of this beverage does says that it contains natural flavors and sulfite. What does it mean? According to Fooducate, natural flavoring means that Strongbow added lab formulated flavoring to make their product taste better. It is a more expensive flavoring method compared to artificial flavoring. So, what about the sulfite? Sulfites are inorganic salt that have antioxidant and preservatives properties. I guess thats why it has a little bit of artificial flavor in it.
